Stenning Schueppert is a consultant at Maven Associates who is specialized in private equity investment strategy and M&A.
Stenning earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University where he directed the nation’s largest student-run philanthropy, raising over $300,000. Completing his studies at Northwester, Stenning started his career at Bain and Company. During his tenure, as a senior associate consultant, he was involved in several high impact cost saving projects that lead to significant cost savings to clients such as Ford.
Following Bain, Stenning was an associate at GTCR Golder Rauner where he was on a $900M deal team for a go-private transaction.
An MBA from Stanford University was next on Stenning’s career path, and it is where he served as co-president of the Private Equity Club. He spent the next nearly twenty years focused on private equity investment as well as merger and acquisition activities at well-respected mid-market firms including HIG and EOS. In addition, he was the co-founder and managing partner of CenterGate Capital that was focused on growing companies in the $10-250M range by assisting with flexible capital, strategic guidance and strong management teams.
His experience in developing strategy lead him to his role at Total Safety US, a 4,500 person, $450M global safety services provider for the industry and energy markets, where he was an senior vice president of strategy and corporate development. During his time at Total Safety, Stenning was responsible for strategic initiatives, marketing and M&A activities including sourcing, negotiating and execution. In his four years, he closed a total of 11 deals growing the company’s EBITDA by approximately 80 per cent.
In his twenty years of direct private equity experience, what Maven consultant, Stenning Schueppert, loves most is strategically building businesses. This passion has led Stenning to serve as a board member or advisory board member of four organizations including Make-a-Wish.
In his current role as an independent consultant, Stenning appreciates the ability to help a variety of teams build businesses strategically via accretive acquisitions. He sees his role as an independent consultant to be focused on that helping clients achieve that same objective. Now as a Maven consultant, he helps a variety of teams in that critical inflection point with his unique skill set.
